Boomerang Consultancy’s Litter Pick with McDonalds

As part of their CSR policy, Boomerang Consultancy actively participate in local activities and events. One such community based activity is the annual McDonald’s Litter Pick which, this year, took place in the Elswick Ward in the West End of Newcastle.

Under the watchful eye of Councillor Dipu Ahad and Gill Fay, HR Manager from the McDonald’s franchise on Northumberland Street, the children, adults and staff from McDonald’s donned their green waterproof ponchos, hi-viz vests, collected their bright green litter bags and litter grabbers and set off to tidy up the community.

Even though the rain came, spirits were not dampened and everybody remained enthusiastic throughout gathering in excess of 18 bags of rubbish.

The team ventured down backstreets, through alley-ways and were even invited into gardens to remove waste.

Paul Tute, Director for Boomerang Consultancy said “We had a great afternoon working in the community where our office is located. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working alongside local residents, young and old, to help them remove unwanted rubbish. I even brought my own Daughters along to help”.

Paul continued by saying “Last year we participated in a litter pick event run by Gill Fay near to the McDonald’s Franchises in the Metro Centre, Gateshead, and thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so we returned to help out one year later”

Caitlyn and Olivia, from Boomerang Consultancy, both said “It was great fun; we managed to clean up lots of gardens and paths and found some unusual things such as old toys and headless dolls”

The whole team, including operations, office and management from McDonald’s participated and provided support throughout the afternoon.

Boomerang Consultancy will continue to work with the Northumberland Street McDonald’s Franchisee and his team to support more community events both in Newcastle and Gateshead.
